A vague or moderate hunch is one of the symptoms of acute anxiety and exactly what I clearly remember. The same as other symptoms it may be accompanied by abdominal cramps, dry mouth, palpitations, sweating, diarrhea. In chronic anxiety, uneasiness can occur even if you don’t know the reason at some point. The organism seems to get used to this unnatural state and it’s there even though we do not want it. One of the symptoms is a panic attack, which sometimes occurs without a hint, out of the blue.
Very often there are symptoms of suffocation, chest pain, shivering, malaise, piercing in the hands and feet, horror. They are sometimes so distinct that when viewed by someone else, it seems as if the person is experiencing a heart attack.
I’m glad these last few symptoms have passed me by. But I also remember one panic attack as faithfully as it has happened yesterday. I got up from my seat on the bus, quickly headed for the door, and I remember wanting to ask the driver to stop and open the door so I could get out. But to my luck, the station was few feet away and I almost ran out of the bus and continued walking as fast as if someone was chasing me. But it was this rush that seemed to be my salvation.
