Each time has its good and bad sides. Many people say this is the worst. The question is how much time we could have been aware of before, and what time distance had done to him, but everyone was always of the opinion that it was harder now than before. Is that really the case, or was someone first convincing us, and then we started to convince ourselves, I don’t know. Attention
We Have No Time
All I know is that we believed that we were all telling the same story and that nothing could change without action. I also know that we, as humans, miss a lot today and that time alone has nothing to do with it. But we do.
There is a lack of attention at every turn. With the excuse that we have no time – and that is our excuse for everything we have not done in our lives – we have forgotten what it means to do things with care. Whether we are locking the apartment, taking the dog for a walk, talking, eating or paying the bills, somehow our attention has become irrelevant, divided, we do multiple things at once, and none of us are as devoted as we should be.
Look Around You
Today, for example, I went to the bank to pay for all my bills. In front of me was an elderly gentleman. He was so neat, clean, his hands were shaking and he was slightly touched, but still vital. It was a long queue, I almost waited an hour and watched the people around me, and especially him. Nobody let him across the line. He was patient, attentive, silent and waiting… In his hand was a receipt and a paper showing all the expenses for the last month – I know this because the title was in capital letters. I remembered that something was done by my parents and that I did something similar. I looked at my transparent shirt, where all the bills were in one place, laughed, and remembered the piece of paper on the dining table where I was counting it all …
I decided to observe people more carefully today. With how much carelessness we just go through the day, month, year and years. How much carelessness is around us, how much superficiality, automatism, absence, mechanism… I realized that very often I do it myself. I’ll be aware of everything later, but the excuses are always there. Usually, the one that I don’t have time for. We don’t need time for attention, we need time to plan it better. It’s not a short day, as much as we are incapable of sticking to our schedule the way we should.
Let’s Be Devoted
Just think about how much time you have wasted today, and on what or whom? Why would we waste an hour every day on bad habits, bad people, on some things that may not matter to us, and we all do? And then we have no time for true values. Let us carefully do what we are already doing. Not to do several things at once, unless we have to – otherwise, it is the favorite sport of many employers – because we cannot enjoy or adequately devote ourselves to any of them. How much attention we give to everything in our lives, just how much we can expect to get back. Otherwise, let’s forget the excuses and pay attention! I am sure that way, with care, we will not lack time, and times in general will be much better.
Watch out! Be careful! Pay attention!
